The Dome of the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, QatarGood design can alter your sense of reality. The faceted surface of the dome gives the impression of a 3D spheroidal object hanging in space. In reality, the octagonal skylight is the top of the dome with its light radiating outward along the 16 joins. To help you visualize the dome, look for the guy wires that hold the hanging light.
The building was designed by I. M. Pei. It houses an amazing amount of Islamic art. We feature an image of a scabbard on the Library page from the the museum's collection. The museum is truly worth the time. They have an outstanding collection and have taken great care to preserve and show it. Below is a slide show of a very small part of the collection. You may see some familiar items. The sword and scabbard image on the Library page also comes from the Museum of Islamic Art. |
Why were we there? We've been to Doha a few times over the years, improving upstream decision skill sets, evaluating opportunities for and with clients, planning infrastructure projects, or simply connecting through to other Middle Eastern locations.
Working with our clients to improve strategic and project tactical decision making has taken HCI professionals around the world many, many times. We are chosen because we have the diverse skill sets and experience required to integrate the science and the technologies with the business decisions. It is a unique combination of skills and experience which is very rare in the consulting world. HCI is more than a collection of experienced professionals. We are seen by industry as experts in our fields. We are sought out to coach and train individuals, teams, and implement state-of-the-industry processes, just as we did here in Doha. |
